Book Blitz: Adrenaline by Sunniva Dee + 5* review + excerpt + giveaway

Title: Adrenaline
Author: Sunniva Dee
Genres: New Adult, Romance
Release Date: April 30, 2015

Life’s the shit!
Chicks squeal over how wild and yummy I am, play their silly games trying to tie me down. But I’m free as a bird, doing what makes life life: kicking extreme-sport-ass!

I base jump, snowboard, bungee jump. I do anything for the rush.
Then, Ingela blows into town for college—a cool Swedish blast of trouble. Foulmouthed and runway-gorgeous, the girl seeps in like poison and melts the freaking brain.
To Ingela I am what chicks were to me: pastime, leisure, entertainment, pleasure. She’s killing me, and I’m digging it. There’s a new rush in town!Yeah, I hunt down my highs, and now the chase is on. I’ll catch her soon enough, just, what’s the deal with her ex?

With Ingela, sex is a dance. A slow tango where skin flows over skin. It is slick readiness, a quiet welcome. It’s smooth, warm, right, and all wrong.

On and off. On and off. Again, she’s wrecked with grief. It’s a reminder of how I destroy her, how crushed relationships shouldn’t be revived.
We’ve done this for years, now, but clearly we’re in for more.

Sex, for instance. Damn straight, sex is a major high. I curve a hand around Inga’s waist, kneading, and she lets out a happy sigh. Some tumbles are more exciting than others, of course. Some chicks are more fiery than others.
I look down Inga’s supermodel body. She’s skinny, muscular in a feminine way and almost as tall as me. Small, firm breasts. I know they’re firm because I’ve felt her up more than once. I want to feel them right now, actually. I wonder if she’d consider me as a fuck buddy if I worked up the nerve to ask? The thought of that high I crave so badly tenses my jaw.
I inch my hand up across her belly, covering my move from an audience with the other arm. Ingela squirms to get more comfortable in my lap. She lifts her elbow enough for me to sneak up even higher under her shirt.
I’m easy. Just the thought of this little indiscretion makes my adrenal gland squirt its drug into my blood. Is her bra too tight? Will she allow me to cup her boob right here between our friends?
I kiss her temple. A small grin plays on her sleepy mouth. To me, Ingela’s the ultimate girl. Ever since she first cussed me out with a big smile on her face, since she gave me a bite mark on my upper thigh in a make-believe bar brawl, I’ve been in deep. For a girl, she’s fucking up there.
Not that I love her. No, people I simply enjoy being with. I don’t love them. Well, obviously Mom—my big bro, Patrick, the hotshot pilot. But that’s it. At thirteen, I realized that the only thing I’ve ever really loved is the sensation of being one hundred percent alive. In the everyday grind—school, work, colleagues, friends—you merely trot along. There’s no gallop, no living to the max.
No mental, wicked, ace living.
I grin wide.
“What’s that face for?” BB girl Beth squints my way. She’s got a thing for me, probably because I’ve never fucked her and she’s curious. I’ve had several of her colleagues. BB girls are easier lays than Smother girls.
Robin snorts. “Bet he’s thinking about next weekend. Dude’s got the weekend off and is spending his tip money on stupid shit.”
I laugh at that, and Ingela groans, uncomfortable at my chest rocking against her.
“What’re you doing?” Beth asks. “Something extreme again?” Her eyes go to my broken finger.
I shrug the shoulder Ingela isn’t resting on. “I heal fast. Plus, the ticket’s been paid for since Christmas. I’d go with a broken back.”
Beth sucks in a girly breath, and I smell acting. “Oh, don’t say that—you’re jinxing yourself, Cam. Don’t get hurt out there.”
She’s full of it. I always get myself hurt.
“Don’t go,” Ingela slurs.
“What, darlin’?” I drawl out. Clearly, I’ve heard wrong.
“Don’t. Go.” She doesn’t say it louder, just more pronounced.
“Hmm. You’ll miss me now?” She arches her back the tiniest bit, and it’s the little shift Ilittle tit of hers. So soft and warm.
“Perv,” she tells me but doesn’t object to my g need to slip a few digits in under her bra. Five seconds later, I’ve cupped that sweet roping ways.

Simone's Review

*ARC received in return for an honest review

This is the second book I have read from the lovely Sunniva DeeShattering Halos being the first, so I wasted no time delving in. I was pleasantly surprised that Adrenaline was so different to Shattering Halos, that had left me floating in heaven and swooning for a long time after I had finished.

Well HELL YEAH!!!! I wasn't ready for the rush I got from Adrenaline. The journey this story took me on had my heart pumping so hard one minute, my ovaries wanting to explode the next, while losing myself in this awesome Adrenaline rush. I just opened my arms and jumped letting each page guide me through. You really don't need to jump for real to get a high or your blood pumping, everyone has something that makes this happen and, to be honest, for me most of the time mine kicks in when I am reading a story like this.

I really don't want to go into the story as I feel, as a reviewer, my job is to tell you how this story made me feel, rather than reveal spoilers or tell you the plot. I will say that I adored everyone of these characters and was left wanting more of their stories, present and past (yes I loved them that much).

Cameron was well....... damn, so bloody hot and reckless one minute then sensible and caring the next (yep you've got it, totally bloody perfect BBF) oooh yes another one to add to your list.

Ingela for me was a great leading lady. She was a sexy sassy Swedish bombshell, even though she had a weakness for her ex and that did frustrate me at times. I found myself cussing her under my breath at her choices to keep going back knowing it would only rip her heart out again and again, but just not knowing how to break the cycle.

I have to mention Bo, Ingela's ex. I must say he's caught my eye and am hoping or maybe asking Sunniva that I need a bit more Bo to wet my taste buds....(a  book of his own please).

Cameron and Ingela's relationship was so endearing and sweet, it was so lovely to see them both start to question how they felt about each other. Were they just friends? Seeing the jealously they both started to feel, the wanting to be closer than friends, the mental torture they put themselves through when they thought they had lost one another. They were also, at times, so bloody frustrating. I found myself wanting to reach inside my kindle and bash their heads together to knock some sense into them.

Sunniva Dee, you have once again out done yourself and I totally recommend this book to anyone who likes to read a great story with well developed characters and a whole rollercoaster of emotions from start to finish. Keep writing Sunniva, I can wait for your next instalment.

She throws her head back with that tiny ponytail dancing.
I'm pulling it out after work for sure.
No way is she going home alone tonight.

Painted, fluffy, soft lips. She's a rush.
The entire girl is a rush to me,
and the realisation is a punch to the gut.

About the Author

Originally from Norway, I moved to the United States twelve years ago. I hold a Master’s degree in languages and taught Spanish at college level before settling in at the Savannah College of Art and Design as an adviser.

I write New Adult fiction, sometimes with a paranormal twist—like in “Shattering Halos,” published by The Wild Rose Press in February 24th 2014 and in “Stargazer,” released November 2014. The first book I’ve self-published was the New Adult Contemporary novel “Pandora Wild Child,” which made me a proud indie author in October 28th 2014.

I specialize in impulsive heroines, bad-boys, and good-boys running amok. Then, there’s the intense love, physical and emotional attraction beyond reason—sensory overload for the reader as well as for the characters. Like in real life, I hope you’re unable to predict what comes next in my stories.

Yes, so I write what I love to read, and depending on the reader, you’ll find my books to be a fast-paced emotional rollercoaster—or disturbing because the struggles of love aren’t your thing. Here’s to hoping you have the same reading vice as me!

Cover Reveal: Finding Me (His #3) by Mariah Dietz + excerpt + giveaway

Title: Finding Me (His, #3)
Author: Mariah Dietz
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: June 1, 2015

I came here to escape. Leave the debris and avoid the inevitable truths.

Things are better.

I’m finding me, but in the process I fear I’m forgetting those I have left, and the ones who have left me. Maybe I’m losing who I was.

Can I forget my past and move forward?

Can I forget him?

My eyes fly open and my mind feels alert. Normally nightmares wake me up like this, but this time, nothing is haunting me.

I look around the dark living room, feeling my heart race, and then realize what woke me up. A loud train of curses followed by a whine and a scratching at the door makes my heart squeeze. I sit up slightly, my eyes and ears desperately seeking the night for the confirmation that I’m not dreaming. A scraping against the lock sends my heart rate to unhealthy levels as my eyes widen and my muscles tense. When I hear the key turn, I drop back to the couch, squeezing my eyes shut and trying to bury my face in my pillow, behind a wall of my hair as I try to make my breathing sound normal.

I can tell when the door is opened by the click of Zeus’s nails against the hardwood floors growing closer to me. His voice is hushed as he calls out to Zeus, making my entire body pulse with familiarity and nerves. Zeus’s heavy breathing grows until he places his front paws on the couch in front of me and begins bathing me in heavy kisses. There’s no way to try and pretend I’m sleeping through this. I’ll drown first. Plus my need to see him is outweighing my fears.

I sit up and wipe a hand down my face while searching the dark living room for him as Zeus pushes closer to me, whimpering with anticipation and what can only be described as unleashed excitement.

Then he appears in front of the coffee table. It’s too dark to make out much of him, but every fiber of my being feels some sort of response, verifying that it’s him. Elation and fear, mixed with rage and jealousy, are topped with curiosity and pain. It’s a confounding and stifling overabundance of emotions that has my eyes staring wide at him, soaking up every last detail that I can manage in the dim light while Zeus works to climb higher on the couch, hovering over me.
Max stares back at me and although it’s too dark to see the blueness of his eyes, I can see the fierceness in them. He looks pissed. No relief, no happiness like Zeus, just anger.

“Zeus,” he calls again in a tone I’ve rarely heard.

“It’s alright. He can stay.” Thankfully my voice barely comes out above a whisper because my emotions are shooting through me like vinegar when it meets baking soda—unsteady.

He stares at me, and like a geyser, unspoken words flood my mind. “Hey, Max.”

He must be just as shocked as I am that I was able to speak those words because as soon as his name leaves my lips, he turns and ascends the stairs without responding. His bedroom door slams and then silence rings in my ears.
I catch a movement out of the corner of my eye and turn to see Landon in the hallway, running a hand over his jaw, wearing only a pair of gym shorts. His head turns from the stairs to me, and then he silently walks to the couch.

“He’s …”

“It’s okay,” I say when the rest of his words don’t seem to find their way out. “This is his house too.”

“He’s not mad at you.”

I turn to look at him in obvious disbelief. Anyone would have been able to see that Max was mad at me. His reaction wasn’t shocking exactly. Max lost one of his best friends, just like I had. There have been days that I have felt really angry over the whole situation too. Angry that I didn’t know how to communicate my feelings, and angry about the way he dealt with my insecurities. I still struggle with being angry over removing myself and moving to Delaware because I thought it would be the right decision for me.

Kitty and I have discussed my tendency to run from awkward situations; she’s the one who provided me with the new term “remove myself from.” It sounds a lot better than fleeing, but I had fled, and I know it. I can give a hundred reasons why for each time too, rationalizing each situation until I’m nearly positive it was the right decision—but I can never make it to one hundred percent. That small bubble of resistance and doubt always prevents me from being able to allow the memories to finally be discarded, and then it begins spreading, eating the conviction one doubt at a time.

Release Blitz: Jetson (Entwine in the Vine #2) by C.A. Ellis + excerpt

Title: Jetson (Entwine in the Vine #2)
Author: CA Ellis
Release Date: April 30, 2015

Prepare for the highs… Prepare for the lows…Prepare to fall in love…

Jett, Sonny, Jude and Ace are four guys with very different personalities but with one strong mutual goal: to take their band, Jetson, all the way.

Jett Matthews, the lead singer of Jetson, and his boys are finally hitting the big time and living the dream they’ve strived so long for.

As always, dreams come at a price. There’s the non-stop media attention, the parties, the booze binges, and of course, being hounded by hundreds of groupies. For these boys, all that doesn’t seem like a hard price to pay; in fact for some of them, it’s just perks of the job.

Jett’s finally back on home soil after a tour of the U.S and Europe, when the cutest girl with the pinkest hair enters his world. Jett seems to be falling hard for the rainbow-haired beauty, but can she handle the pitfalls of fame and a life in the spotlight she’s about to be plunged into? She has a lot to consider, like her son.

As we follow Jett and Dolly’s journey, there are curve balls being thrown from all directions. Can Jett have his musical dream and his girl? And when the unthinkable happens, is it a step too far for Jett and Dolly’s love to survive?

Ultimately, can Jett keep the only girl he’s ever really wanted, while he takes over the world
one sexy, husky lyric at a time?

I hear a large bang against my bedroom door, like someone has just walked into it, followed by a multitude of expletives. I smile, knowing it’s Sonny on the other side of the door. He’s no doubt just tried to walk straight into my room, not considering that it might be locked. I haul myself off the bed and head over to the door; I’m still smirking as I unlock and open it, and there is my best friend, rubbing his head and shoulder simultaneously. His face is pained with deep frown lines across his forehead, “Jett, what the fuck, man? I just practically broke my arm and smashed my skull in?” “The door was locked, Sonny. I am entitled to some privacy. If you started knocking before just walking in to my room maybe I wouldn’t have to lock the door.”
I see Sonny’s pained expression turn to suspicion as he looks over my shoulder into my room. “You got a chick in there, because there was no bandana tied around your door handle, man.”
“No, Sonny,” I say, exasperated. “I haven’t got a woman in here. I just wanted a bit of peace and quiet.”
“Oh, you were jerking off then,” Sonny replies, nodding in understanding, and smiling, because in his eyes, that at least makes a good enough reason for my door to be locked.

I sigh

 About the Author

I am a crazy, happy and fun Essex wife, mum and a good friend to anyone who needs one. I love cheese and red wine. I am addicted to Starbucks lattes and social networking, where I have made some wonderful friends, some of which I have since met in the flesh.

I released ‘The Vine’ in last August 2014. ‘The Vine’ is the first book in my ‘Entwined in the Vine’ series, the second book in the series ‘Jetson’ is about a hot rock star by the name of Jett Matthews. The third book in the series I have already started writing and is about sassy chick Katy Stephens and I hope to have it released the early part of 2016, although it could be earlier!!

Written as a series, I recommend reading them in order, although this is not essential as each book can be read as a standalone as they focus on different characters.

When I am not writing I can be found reading, listening to music, browsing Pinterest or just generally daydreaming about a new make believe world I can throw myself into.

Cover Reveal: Twisted Bond (Holly Woods Files #1) by Emma Hart + excerpt

Title: Twisted Bond (Holly Woods Files #1)
Author: Emma Hart
Release Date: June 11, 2015

I’m an Italian-Texan woman in a family full of cops. I’m passionate and shoot before I think. You only f*ck with me if you’re stupid.

Photograph cheating spouses. Hand over the evidence. Cash my check.
That was my plan when I returned home to Holly Woods, Texas, and became a private investigator.
Finding the dead body in my dumpster? Yeah… Given the choice, I think I would have opted out of that little discovery, especially since all three of my brothers are cops. And my Italian grandmother is sure the reason I’m single is because of my job.
Of course, my connection to the victim is entirely coincidental. Until I’m hired by her husband to investigate her murder and shoved bang-smack into the path of Detective Drake Nash.
My nemesis, a persistent pain in my ass, and one hell of a sexy son of a bitch.
Shame he still holds a grudge from that time I shot him in the foot twelve years ago, or we could have something. In another life.
So now all I have to do is avoid my nonna’s blind dates, try not to blackmail my brothers into giving me confidential police files, and absolutely do not point my gun at Drake Nash. Or kiss him. Or jump his bones.

All while I hunt down the killer.
Sounds totally simple—until a second body proves that sometimes things that start as coincidences don’t always end up that way…

(Twisted Bond is book one of the Holly Woods Files series and while it does not end in a cliffhanger, it is not a standalone.)

“Get out!” I yell, my voice hoarse.

“I’m sorry?” Drake recoils.

“Get out. Of my building,” I add, moving toward him as he walks backward. “If you don’t have a warrant in your ass pocket, get the fuck out. Now.”

He grabs my wrist and pulls me into him. “Listen to me, cupcake. Someone got real lucky last night, and that someone was you. You weren’t here when your killer wanted you to be. Yeah, I said yours. They know you’re waitin’ for ‘em. Most nights you’d be here, right? But last night, because I pissed your ass off, you weren’t. Know what that tells me?”

“I’m sure you’re gonna tell me,” I manage through gritted teeth.

“It tells me this killer is watching you. You ain’t safe. They’re waiting to strike, and it’s gonna be the second you’re alone. We’re close. I can feel it. You’re their target now. And this killer? They want to kill you.”

“No shit,” I whisper, looking away from him. “I won’t back down. I don’t care what you say. They can try and kill me. I’ve dealt with worse.”

“Stop being a pain in my ass.” He grabs my chin and forces me to look into his eyes and all their devastatingly icy glory. “Someone. Wants. To. Kill. You.”

“I know.”

“Yet you don’t care.”

“I care,” I whisper, holding his gaze. “But did you ever think that I’m your best bet at catching this person? If they’re watching me, if they want to kill me, they’re there. Waitin’, like you said. And that means they’re gonna come to me. Not you. Not anyone else. Me.”

“Yeah, I thought it. But I don’t like it.”

“Ain’t your job to like it, Detective. It’s your job to deal with it.”

“You’re right. It ain’t my job to like it, but I ain’t exactly dealing with it either.”

“What the hell does that mean?”

“It means,” he leans in, his touch relaxing just a smidge, “It means that I don’t like it. I’m not dealin’ with it. And the thought of you bein’ in the kinda danger you are scares the ever-lovin’ fuckin’ shit out of me.”
