Synopsis

He traded my death for love. I wasn’t given a choice. His decision has caught up with us, so now I am a living, breathing catalyst to war between Heaven and Hell.

The violations he committed saved my life. Since the collision, he’s appeared everywhere. In my hospital room, my school, even my house. He shows up in my paintings, my drawings, in all of my art projects. I can’t stop thinking about him.

He says his name is Gabriel, and he doesn’t understand what’s happening to him. He doesn’t know how I can see him or why he loves me in ways that should be impossible for a Celestial.

My obsession grows. I want him to hold me, kiss me—give all of himself. For every day he protects me, the consequences loom darker and taller. Soon, they’ll crash down on us. Yes, the war is about to begin.

Simone's Review

*ARC received in return for an honest review

Shattering Halos was an amazing début novel from Sunniva Dee, I loved every godly moment of it from start to finish. I love Paranormal romance, so I was excited to start this one and because Sunniva gave a small teaser, I just wanted to get to know more of this sexy mysterious man! I mean, with this description wouldn't you?

“A slight movement revealed him sitting in the grass next to me, cross-legged. So serene, so beautiful, so still. He owned the silence the way they should. I felt like laughing, but the sound didn't come out so I stared instead. He was barefoot, and his hair passed his shoulders in tumbles of gold. Well-worn jeans clutched his hips, and a white shirt flowed ghostlike to his waist. With head tilted and chin resting in his hands, he gazed at me curiously. Does he have all the time in the world?

Now I have read a lot of Paranormal romances, but was intrigued to read one about guardian angels, as this seemed like a fresh and original story to get my teeth into. So the story starts off with the leading lady Gaia, who finds herself being saved by a handsome stranger. This leads to her seeing him everywhere watching her, almost protecting her!!

To be honest I thanked god and Sunniva for giving us Gabriel and almost started praying he would be my guardian angel and being a fallen angel only made me pray more he would fall into my bed!! I loved Gabriel's character, he was so protective of Gaia. He had me swooning, while in a heart beat he would be all alpha male and sexy!! This would have me fanning myself and trying to cool my kindle down.

"Gaia, my happiness is being with you, loving you, as long as I can. But I can't promise what tomottow will bring."

Gaia, at times, came over a tad childish which can be annoying but to be honest maybe that's just me as I do like a strong, kick-ass leading lady. But having said that, I did warm to her character and loved her cheeky sexy humour between her and Gabriel.

Now everyone who knows me knows I can't resist a bad boy, so I have to mention Cassiel who is Gabriel's brother and is  HOT AS HELL!! But even though he has this bad angel
image, he is just so silver tongued and could charm the pants off...well me, anyway!

If you love paranormal romance or new adult novels or you want to pop your paranormal cherry, I would absolutely recommend reading Shattering Halos!!! Sunnivia has created a heavenly story about forbidden love and the fight between good and evil, I just cant wait to see wait she produces next!!

About the Author

Originally from Norway, I moved to the United States twelve years ago.

The first awesome five years I spent in the San Fernando Valley, Los Angeles, before moving to the beautiful city of Savannah, Georgia.

I'm currently on my seventh year in the South, where my husband, son, and I are enjoying the heat, the humidity, as well as our crazy menagerie of animals better known as the petting zoo. The only one not here is my daughter, who returned to Norway for college.

I hold a Master's degree in languages, and for ten years, I taught at university level, before settling in as graduate adviser at the Savannah College of Art and Design.

Writing is my passion, my joy, and my addiction. Shattering Halos is my debut novel. When I'm not writing, I read. A lot. :)
