Return to Poughkeepsie Blog Tour with 5* review, guest post, trailer & more

Title: Return To Poughkeepsie #2
Author: Debra Anastasia
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: December 30, 2013

Synopsis

Beckett Taylor is a murderer. His calling, his craft are destruction and intimidation—whether he wants it that way now or not. He left Poughkeepsie to keep his brothers safe, to keep Eve safe. Set up with happy lives to live, they’re better off without him, right?

But all his willpower crumbles when he hears his brother Blake’s frantic voice on the phone. An unknown enemy has moved in on his old territory, and Livia’s been taken. In an instant, Beckett knows it will take an attack only he and Eve can execute to bring her back. All his self-imposed embargoes are torn to shreds, perhaps along with the new man he’s struggled to become.

“Brother, call Eve. I’ll be there soon.”

In this emotional and action-packed sequel to Poughkeepsie, Debra Anastasia conjures a tale of love at its most raw and ragged. With Beckett and Eve, how could we expect anything less? But even when it’s messy, not magical, true love perseveres. Real love finds a way—for better or for worse until death does part.

Simone's Review
**ARC provided in exchange for an honest review**

Now I can tell you I have been wanting to return to Poughkeepsie ever since I read the first book and fell in love with these three hot messed-up brothers. To be honest, I fell for Blake hard in Poughkeepsie. He was such a lost, tortured and gentle soul who was also a gentleman, you know the type that opened doors for a woman and walked them home to make sure they were safe? Well that was Blake!! He will always hold that special place in my heart and is right up there on my list of BBF's and with all the books I have read he has always stayed right up on the top spot.

I knew returning to Poughkeepsie was going to be one hell of a bumpy heart wrenching ride because the first story and characters had floored me and left me in an emotional mess for days after I finished. I was left wondering what became of Beckett when he rode off on his bike leaving his family, the love of his life and Poughkeepsie behind him!! I was still wanting to find out what lay ahead for this messed-up, hot, alpha male.

"His heart overflowed with good intentions but his fists felt best covered in blood."

Starting Return to Poughkeepsie I was pulled in straight away, Debra Anastasia has a style of writing that makes the characters and setting jump out of the page like a 3D movie and oh my, if these two books where made in to a film it would be a Hollywood blockbuster!! Could it get any better than that? Well yes it could, this story just took my breath away and stopped my heart more times than I would like to admit!! I found my self gasping for breath with suspense and my head was exploding with all the action.

We have all the characters that we grew to love in the first book and are introduced to more to love and hate in this sequel. Now I'm not normally drawn to males that fart, slobber, grunt and shed hair everywhere, but I fell for 'G' he was just so adorable. I would give him a home any day and even let him dry hump my leg whenever he had the urge!! But this story is very much owned by Beckett and Eve and with this couple you know things are going to get crazy, I mean bad ass, hot sexy crazy, with lots of action in all departments.

"If all this time between them had taught him anything, it was that they were orbiting the same fate. Together, always together, even when physically apart."

When it comes to strong leading ladies Eve takes the Grammy for this title, I mean I don't know whether to lust her or love her. She has everything you look for in a main character with added lethal killer sex appeal, while still being that girl who wants a family, children and the love of a good man.
Then you have Beckett who is one hell of a hot mess. He is a what-you-see-is-what-you-get kinda guy, he never holds back on his words (which left me blushing and fanning myself) while his emotions are just so raw and intense. I fell in lust with Beckett in the first book but in this one it turned into love with all these qualities and his quick-witted sexy humour which left me panting for more.
Eve and Beckett are made for each other, each one sacrificing their own love and happiness to help and keep safe their family and friends.

I really don't want to go into the story as I feel a reader should be allowed to experience the story for the first time without reading spoilers or snippets from the story, but I can tell you now you need to hold onto the handlebars of this book as its a thrilling, sexy, emotional ride and I am letting you in on one spoiler!!! I am ecstatic its not the end for the Poughkeepsie series, so this just leaves me one more thing to say I bloody love you Debra for bringing us these captivating, emotional stories, this next book can't fast enough!!

I wish I could give this book more  Kick Arse Stars!! But as the highest is 5 here you go!!!

Guest Post
An Interview with Beckett Taylor

When we got the chance to interview the dark and dangerous hunk that is Beckett Taylor you can bet Simone jumped at the chance to offer her services as interviewer, jumped? more like pleaded! I have to admit at this point I'd not read Poughkeepsie, I know, I know!! Don't shout at me, I've since read it and I have to say this is one of those books that will stay with me forever, I love those brothers!!
Any way, back to the interview, Simone managed to ask Beckett a few questions without drooling too much, so she says!

Simone: Looking back on your life would you have done anything different?
Beckett: Not much. I think your first reaction is the right one. Except for Mouse. That night I will always want to relive and do different.

Simone: Do you ever feel any regret or remorse for the people you have killed?
Beckett: Not the bad ones. I protect my own.

Simone: Do you have any regrets?
Beckett: I don’t have time for regrets, again Mouse is really my only one. I miss him every damn day.

Simone: Can you ever see yourself not in a life of crime? If so, what do you see yourself doing?
Beckett: When you fight to survive, it’s hard to put your fists in your pockets. But I really think running a liquor store would be cool. Giving poor bastards a chance when no one else will see them anymore. I’d like that.

Simone: Where do you see yourself in 5 years time?
Beckett:  Between a beautiful woman’s legs. That’s the goal.

Simone: Speaking of  a beautiful woman, where do you see Eve & yourself in the future? That's if you see a future with you both in it of course!
Beckett:Future is a long time. How about tomorrow? Tomorrow I’d love to sit with her on my damn couch, with nobody shooting at us either.

Simone:  When did you realise that you loved her?
Beckett: I knew when I had to leave her. She made me hope for her future. Doesn’t get stronger than that.

Simone: Do you think you would make a good dad?
Beckett:  I’d die for them, but I didn’t have a father so I’m not sure that’s enough. I’d die for any kid. Is that how it goes? Maybe, then.

Simone: Saying that, would you like to have children sometime?
Beckett: Children are my kryptonite. They are so freaking little. My niece and nephews already slay me. My lifestyle sucks for raising a kid.

I'd like to say a huge thank you to Beckett Taylor for giving up some of his precious time to chat with me and I hope I didn't embarrass myself too much by drooling and swooning!

About the Author

Debra Anastasia is busy, just like every other mom. There's dinner, the dogs, the two kids, the two kids, and her ongoing battle with...ahem... digestive issues, which combined with her adolescent boy sense of humor makes for colorful and sometimes cringe-worthy social media updates. Her first love and crowning achievement is her thriving career as the weirdest mom on the block.
Her writing started a decent handful of years ago when--along with the animals and humans in her house--the voices of characters started whispering stories in Debra's ear. Insomnia was the gateway to plots that wouldn't give up, wouldn't let go. Now they stalk her everywhere. Halfway through making lunches, a twist takes hold and--fingers full of peanut butter--she finds somewhere, anywhere to write it down.
She's eternally grateful to Omnific Publishing, which has now published four of her books: two in the Seraphim Series and two in the Poughkeepsie Brotherhood Series, as well as her novella, Late Night with Andres. That one is special because 100% of the proceeds go to breast cancer research. (So go get it right now, please!) She also very much appreciates her open-minded readers, who embrace everything she has to offer, with a focus on anti-heroes and bathroom humor.
Debra lives in Maryland with her family. You can find her at DebraAnastasia.com and on Twitter @Debra_Anastasia. But be prepared.
