Author Bio
'I am what I am,' as the song goes. 'I don't want praise, I don't want pity. I bang my own drum, some think its a noise, I think its pretty. So what if I love each sparkle and each bangle. why not see things from a different angle? Your life is a shame 'til you can shout out, I am what I am."

So here goes...I'm Kerry, I live with my family outside London. I am married to the love of my life and we have two amazing, beautiful children and a nutball Boston terrier, called Betty.
I graduated from the Surrey Institute of Art and Design with a degree in Fashion. I realised straight away that the industry wasn't for me, so I've been creatively frustrated ever since. I have tried a bit of everything to satisfy my need for a creative outlet. Nothing keeps me happy for long. Until I discovered writing. Writing a book has always been a dream, but I had no clue where to start. Then one day, parking my car at the supermarket, Liv & Danny came to me like a thunderbolt. I don't know where they came from, but I raced home and started making them real. Now I have two books to publish and lots more ideas to work on.

I am extremely prone to crushes on boys in books...on trains, in the street, wherever. From my early infatuation with Patrick Swayze in Dirty Dancing and Tom Cruise in Cocktail, to my recent obessions with book-boyfriends like Christian Grey, Travis Maddox and Kellan Kyle, I have always been the same. For the time it takes me to read a book I have an intense love affair with the characters, sometimes they stay with me for a week, sometimes its for life. Sometimes I feel like I will need therapy to cope with the fact that they are not real and will never be mine! Even though I am devoted to my husband, I'll never change, not as long as brilliant, creative writers keep giving me deeply flawed, yet perfect men to love...
I hope, I dream, that these are the types of characters I can one day create to be obsessed over.

Teaser #1

“When did you and Mason start dating?”
Katelyn pulls back a little and looks at me. Her head moves from side to side. She pulls her lip in between her teeth. I reach out and pull it out with my thumb and place a kiss where she was biting it.
“You don’t have to answer.”
“It’s not that. Do you really want to know?”
I take this opportunity to pull her into my arms. “He’s a part of your life and he’s part of the girls’ life. I’ll never ask you not to talk about him when I’m around. I’ll never ask you to stop loving him. If he was here, I’d hate him.” I shake my head because that’s not true. “No, I probably wouldn’t know you if he was here and for that I’m both thankful and remorseful because his girls are the best, most beautiful that I’ve ever encountered and I want to do right by not only them, but him too.”
Tears begin to roll down her face. I wipe them away before she has a chance to. She stares at me with wet eyes that are breaking my heart. I didn’t mean to make her cry, but it’s the only way I can get across with how I feel.
“We started dating the summer after freshman year. He was so popular and cute. My mother said he only wanted me for my swimming pool, but that wasn’t the case. We all grew up that summer.”
“Liam told me a lot about him. Sometimes I feel like I know him, especially when I’m with you and the girls.”
Katelyn smiles and curls up in my arms. “Everyone loved him. He was the high school football star who returned to coach the team. He was supposed to go to school with Liam, but changed his mind and gave up a scholarship to the University of Texas to go to the state school with me. I wonder now, had he went with Liam, if things would be different.”

Andrea's Review
***I received this ARC in return for an honest review***

When Kaylen Aymes told me there was a lot more angst in this book she wasn't wrong, add lots & LOTS of nail biting, kindle gripping tension and steamy hot sexy scenes in to the mix and you have the ultimate perfect ending to an emotional roller coaster of a series.
DFTRM had me in tears throughout the whole story as Ryan tried to cope with Julia forgetting who he was due to a car accident resulting in amnesia. ALLT had me gripping my kindle with tension and panic, I was totally engrossed in the story. I found myself shouting at my kindle so many times in anger and a few times nearly pulled my fringe out in frustration and disbelief, how can one person be so blind and ignorant of the truth?  (No spoilers) and oh, how I wanted to punch a certain person's lights out!
Kahlen Aymes pulls out all the stops in the third and final installment of The Remembrance Trilogy...hurt, betrayal, hot all-consuming passion and a mad, mad love.
I managed to get all the way to page 183 before I finally caved and cried and just one line did it!! By the time I got to the epilogue I was in full teary mode and couldn't function properly for a good while afterwards. I read Ryan & Julia's story reluctantly as I didn't want to say goodbye to them just yet but oh, what a beautiful ending for a beautiful, emotional and passionate love story where love knows no bounds. Congratulations Kahlen on a truly wonderful series, I for one eagerly await your next masterpiece.

No Strings Attached Blog Tour & interview!!

Welcome to our Blog Tour of  No Strings Attached & also an exciting interview with the awesome Author Nicolette Day

Title: No Strings Attached
Author: Nicolette Day
Release Date: June 15th,  2013

Book Synopsis

She wants one night. He wants her forever. Hayden Summers just landed the job of a lifetime taking pictures for Time magazine, but she’s determined to leave with no regrets. The first thing on her list? Erase the memory of her cheating ex with a wild night of anonymous sex. The second? Figure out why her best friend, sexy bar owner Jace Jennings, stopped speaking to her the night she told him about the job. Jace has a problem. Hayden isn’t just leaving the country, she’s risking her life—just when he’s realized he’s in love with her. When fate traps them in the storage room of his bar together, barely contained desire simmers to surface. In one last attempt to keep her, Jace offers Hayden the one thing she wants: a night of hot sex, no strings attached. But when the night is over, will Jace be able to let her go? And will Hayden leave with her heart intact

My Review

This is the first book I have read from Nicolette Day, and I can tell you now it certainly will not be the last... I absolutely loved it!! My only complaint is that it was too short and would loved to have got to know the main characters in more depth! Maybe another * hint, hint, winks*.

This very sweet, heart swooning, sexy novella really leaves you sighing and while hugging your kindle! or maybe that was just me *blushes*
This book starts with Hayden and her assistant having a last drunken, no strings attached night out, as Hayden is about to leave town on a work trip. Hayden is planning on having a one off sexual encounter with a Stranger before she goes, she feels let down and just wants some fun especially after hearing her ex boyfriend is getting married to one of her relatives.
In walks Jace!! *fanning myself* Jace is Hayden's best friend and just happens to be super HOT!! This is one steamy, hot love story of two best friends turning into lovers.
Jace is desperate to tell or show Hayden how he really feels and knows his time is short knowing, she will be gone in the morning!!
Jace's luck turns for the better when he and Hayden get locked in the cellar of the bar they are in, and oh my things end up getting damn hot and steamy!! (you may need to step out side to cool yourself down after) I certainly did!!
This book I could not put down till I finished and I totally recommend to anyone who wants a short read which is well written with lots of hot passion.

"Do you want me Hayden?)"
"Yes," she said with baited breath. "I want you"
"Then we are done talking"

Nicolette Day on Inspiration

MakeMyDayBooks: What inspired you to be a writer?
Nicolette Day: When I was a kid we moved. A lot. My household wasn’t always the most stable place. I was the oldest of four kids, so I was expected to be the responsible one. The one thing that always gave an escape was reading. If I had to guess, I’d say that is exactly why I latched onto books at such an early age. They gave me an out. They made me smile and laugh and feel warm and gooey inside. I remember thinking, I want to do this. I want to put words together in such a way that it can make someone smile even when everything around them is falling apart. As I got older I realized that there were real people behind the books I loved. Shel Silverstein, Judy Bloom, R.L. Stine and J.R. Tolkien weren’t magical wizards in a land far, far away. Well, maybe J.R. Tolkien. I think he definitely had a little magic running through his veins.  They were just people who wrote. They wrote because it was their passion and they wrote to make a living. When I realized that this was an actual job I could have there was never another option for me. In the back of my mind, I always knew whatever job I had at the moment was a means to an end. Because the words I wrote day after day, weren’t just for me. I wanted to share them. I wanted them to make people laugh and cry and give them an escape from the everyday. The thing is my books aren’t just an escape for my readers. They’re an escape for me as well. The process of creating world and getting lost between the pages. Getting to know each character and what makes them tick. It’s like living a dream. If you ask me I’m one of the lucky ones. I found something I love, and I got to make it my job. It’s a dream. It’s an escape. It’s my reality. And I love it.

Makemydaybooks: Tell us your inspiration for characters and story Ideas?
Nicolette: I am a firm believer in feeding your brain. People always ask me the question where do you get your ideas for the stories you write? For me, the answer to that is everywhere. I read. I read often and I read everything I can get my hands on. I watch the news and documentaries. I love movies. I go out into the world and soak in my surroundings. I pour music into my ears every chance I get.  When you constantly feed your brain, the ideas flow seamlessly.  At least for me they do. For the Kissed by Death series, it all started with an Edgar Allen Poe quote.

The boundaries which divide Life from Death are at best shadowy and vague. Who shall say where the one ends, and where the other begins?   Edgar Allan Poe
The idea for Finn’s character in Inbetween and the spark for the reincarnation aspect of the book came from a documentary I watched on a small child whose parents believed he was a reincarnated World War Two fighter pilot. I got the idea for my book Perigee Moon from a documentary on the Salem Witch Trials.

And then I have stories like No Strings Attached that hit me out of nowhere. That story started with Jace and Hayden. They were in my head for months before I built their world around them.

So, if you are running dry on ideas, just feed your brain. Read a book that’s out of your comfort zone. Go for a walk. Engage in conversation with someone you’ve never met. You never know what story you might dream up.

About Nicolette:

A mom by day and a romance writer by night, Nicolette Day harbors a weakness for black and white mochas and books that steam up her Kindle screen. She grew up in a one-stoplight town in Oklahoma where, once upon a time, she only dreamed of becoming a writer.
Nicolette now lives with her family in North Carolina in a town that has at least three stoplights. If you love young adult romance, check out Nicolette’s alter ego, Tara Fuller!

The Review

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

"Fashion tip: Stilettos are great when paired with a great pair of jeans, a skirt, or a dress. Not only do they make your legs look longer and give your calves a great workout but they have the added bonus of  coming in handy should you need to give a cheating husband a kick in the crotch!"

As soon as I read that opening sentence I knew I was going to like Pretty Little Lies and I wasn't wrong! I loved the fashion tips that began every chapter. They were sometimes funny, usually gave a hint as to what was to come in that chapter and ALWAYS practical.
Just like Olivia, I could've kicked her cheating, slime-ball of an ex, Deacon, right in the crotch more than once!! Oh, I didn't like him and with good reason as you will find out (no spoilers).

Olivia decides enough is enough, she's taking her life back. She divorces her ex, heads home to her best friend and bumps, literally, into Luke, her first love and realises she still loves him.
Luke is now a successful businessman and all kinds of hot!! Can Olivia resist him? Does she even want to? Hell, I wouldn't!

I loved Olivia's fiery best friend Pyper, who only has Olivia's best interests at heart even if Olivia thinks otherwise! She made me laugh out loud so many times especially when trying to get Olivia back onto the dating scene..setting up an on-line dating profile scene was really funny, as was the various "dates" Olivia went on - too many to pick a favourite. I want a best friend like her.

"Fashion tip: Wearing clothes in several sizes too small DOES NOT make you look thinner. It makes you look like a big zit straining to pop. Also, pea-green is not a good color. On anyone. Ever."

Pretty Little Lies made me laugh out loud, shout, cry and gasp in shock - all things I like in a good read. There was enough hotness to set my kindle on fire and start my pulse throbbing (amongst other things!) but not too much that I thought "not ANOTHER sex scene!". I did think towards the end of the book that the story was going to be rushed as there seemed to be loose ends to tie up but just when I thought that, BAAM!!!.....NO SPOILERS!!!!!  (psst! I loved the ending)

A very worthy 4 stars for this well written debut novel, definitely 1-click buy this book.

I wait with baited breath for the next novel from the pen of this rising new author, Jennifer Miller.

Release date: May 22, 2013
Genre: Romance
Age Group: New Adult (Mature 17+ content)
Event organized by: AToMR Tours

Book Synopsis

After Kylie’s dad dies in a freak accident, he leaves her with nothing other than her crazy stepmother, Darla, and the ability to play guitar. When Darla kicks Kylie out and she loses her job all in the same day, she hops a bus to Nashville determined to make her late father’s dreams come true. Waitressing and saving her pennies to record a demo, her big break comes when she’s asked to join a tour going down the tubes with once platinum album-selling country music superstar Trace Corbin. But touring with Trace is hardly a dream come true since he’s pretty much drinking his career down the drain. If Kylie can’t pull Trace out of his rut, he’ll pull her and her dreams down with him.

There was only one way out of this. Okay, maybe two. Duck and hide and risk losing her job, or face the man whose song she’d just butchered in front of several hundred people. And risk losing her job.
Well, she’d never been one to back down, and she’d never ducked and hid from anyone in her life. Certainly not some cocky-ass country music singer who everyone knew was pretty much drinking his career down the drain.
“Can I get you a drink, Mr. Corbin?” Kylie asked in the sweetest tone she could muster, stepping towards the stage.
“No, ma’am. Got one,” he told her, winking at the audience and lifting a beer bottle in her direction. Thick dark hair peeked out from under a trucker’s hat, and muscular suntanned forearms flexed at the end of his rolled up shirtsleeves. His bright white smile was framed by boyish dimples, and damn those jeans were doing things to her.“Then what can I do for you?” she asked, rolling her eyes at the crowd as if she was annoyed with the megastar for interrupting her work. Good Lord. If they only knew that her heart was beating triple time against her ribs.
“Well, since you stole my song, the least you could do would be come up here and sing with me,” he slurred. For heaven’s sakes, the man was half drunk. And geez, could his jeans get any tighter? Focus, Kylie.“Excuse me, sir. You mean to tell me you sing a song about bein’ a single girl that can’t be tied down?” The audience cracked up all around her.
“She’s cute, Clive. Where’d you find this one?” Trace bellowed across the bar. Kylie didn’t look to see what Clive did, but she could see a few cell phone screens lighting up the room. This was definitely going to be on YouTube. Trace Corbin was going to make sure she never got recognized in the industry, unless it was by people laughing at her.
“Well, pick a song already. I got tables to wait on,” Kylie said, hopping back onto the stage.
He eyed her carefully as he lifted his guitar. “You gonna change the words all up? Make me look like a fool?”
“Oh no, darlin.’ Pretty sure you can handle that all on your own,” Kylie answered with a flirty grin.
She prayed she looked like she was keeping her cool, but the last time she’d seen this man he was on CMT and she was watching from her bedroom in Okla-fricking-homa. And holy hell if he wasn’t even hotter in person. He smelled like aftershave and bourbon. Kylie decided then and there that she’d never be able to get a whiff of either without recalling this moment.
